C.B. Jensen is an odd troll in the forest indeed: former Navy Commander and submariner who traded steel hulls for stories and patrol logs for plot twists. Born and raised in Norway, he grew up on a steady mix of fjords, folklore, and the kind of tall tales only Norwegian grandparents can tell.

After years at sea – navigating deep waters, icy weather, and the occasional “kraken” of the imagination – he turned to writing. The Dovre Chronicles blends his experience from life below the surface with the myths and magic of the mountains above it.

When he’s not writing, C.B. composes music (including the original songs featured in his books) or explores Norway’s wild trails with his family.

“Trolls aren’t monsters,” he says. “They’re reflections of us – curious, stubborn, loyal, and sometimes a little mischievous.”
